J.A. Hogarth Chemists set up it’s travel clinic service in 2010 and is led by pharmacist Mhairi Speirs. Mhairi has diploma in travel medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and is an independent prescriber. The chemist was one of the first batch of pharmacy led travel clinics in the UK and since it was established the service has grown from strength to strength.
As the number of patients using the travel clinic continued to grow, managing records, itineraries and vaccine schedules on paper began to have its drawbacks. Mhairi said “We wanted to move away from paper records as it was becoming a hassle. When I saw Inca Clinic it looked like the perfect solution.” In October 2013 Mhairi attended one of the online webinars that showed Inca Clinic in use and soon afterward she signed up for a free 15 day trial. “I could see straight way that everything about Inca Clinic was designed to help us run our travel vaccine service.” From the easy-to-use consultation steps, vaccine scheduling, batch management and invoicing, Inca Clinic ticked all the boxes. “It didn’t take me long to decide to sign up” said Mhairi
Any business wants to ensure it’s making the right investment especially when its still developing. Patient numbers were growing but the pharmacy was still nervous about buying new software, so they opted for the Pay per Use price plan. “This has worked extremely well for the first year; however, we now considering the standard pay per user license when we renew this year, because as the growth in patients continues it will be more cost effective of us”. Inca Clinic is flexible in its ability to meet the needs of travel clinics from the smallest to the very largest with a range of pricing options and configurations.
Does Inca Clinic work for pharmacists?
Internationally, more and more pharmacists are starting to offer travel vaccine services. Getting the right training and protocols in place is essential; the real benefit of Inca Clinic comes when providers move from knowing about travel vaccines to actually doing travel vaccines. Inca Clinic helps pharmacy travel clinics deliver a great service to their patients and maximises their return on investment in training and resources. To take out a free 15 day trial of Inca Clinic visit www.incaclinic.com and/or email firstname.lastname@example.org to ask about attending a webinar.
